I build paintings. I want my paintings to feel solid and built. Solid with the materials inherent in the process of painting, and built with the structural concepts inherent in painting, architecture, and cellular palentology. The physical compositional configuration is the structural field on which sediments of paint and material are massed, initiating the growth of each piece. It is the vitality of growth and decay within structure and the energies inherent in these processes that I try to embrace in my work.
